Lois Rogel Vence is the co-founder and COO of Momento, a tech-enabled insurance company transforming how Mexicans access and experience car insurance.

Originally from Galicia, Spain, he built his career at McKinsey & Company before launching his own startup in Mexico City — where he now leads one of the fastest-growing insurance carriers in the country.

He recently obtained his EB-1A visa with Tukki.

Q: When did you decide to start your U.S. visa process, and how did you find Tukki?

L: I was introduced to Ramiro, Tukki’s founder, by a colleague of mine at McKinsey. He explained that, based on the achievements so far and the merits of the venture, we could qualify for the EB-1A.

One of my closest friends — also a founder — had gone through the process with Tukki and was super happy with the support. So I decided to take my chances. I do see a near future where I’d like to move to the U.S.

Q: What were your main concerns about the process before applying?

L: Basically, it was lack of knowledge. I didn’t know this path was possible — to get directly the green card based on extraordinary ability.

I didn’t know if my case was strong enough to qualify. But Ramiro and the team had great communication and explained everything very well — all the KPIs and checks you need to qualify — and gave me the confidence that my case was strong enough to have a good chance of approval.

Q: How was your experience working with the Tukki team and the platform?

L: When I started, the platform had just been launched, so I saw it evolve. It was really well built, self-explanatory, and the actions felt very natural.

Whenever I needed help from the team — to review a specific part of the case, a translation, or anything — it was easy to interact. We had a WhatsApp group, and they were super responsive.

Both the product and the service level that the team provided were top-notch.

Q: How did you feel when you got the EB-1A visa approval?

L: I was quite surprised — to be honest — but for good. You always hope for the best, but nothing is guaranteed. When they contacted me and told me it was approved, I was very excited about the opportunity to move in the future to the U.S.

It basically opens a great option — a life in the U.S. that previously wasn’t there — so it’s definitely a life-changing event.

Q: What would you tell other founders looking for visa providers?

L: I’d say track record is relevant — and talk to people who have gone through the same path. Support and responsiveness make all the difference.

For most people, this is not your core task — you have your company, your family, your life. So it’s key to have all the support possible and a team that’s there when you need them.

Tukki team’s support was fast and responsive. I literally had someone responding in a couple of hours—sometimes even within minutes—so whenever I was a bit lost, there was always someone to help me out.
