Gonzalo was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina. He studied biochemistry and later completed his PhD at the University of Buenos Aires before moving to the U.S. in 2020.
He recently obtained his green card through the EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver).
Q: What worried you about the green card process?
G: It's a very long journey. I had heard stories of people reaching the limit of their visa and getting stuck, especially because of backlogs. Not being able to freely leave and re-enter the country was also something that concerned me.

Q: How did you hear about Tukki?
G: I started my NIW process in 2023 with an attorney that a friend recommended. I prepared all my paperwork and was getting ready to file, but then they told me they were too busy and had too many applicants.

Q: How did you feel when you got the good news?
G: I was walking when I got an email saying my status had been updated. I opened the app, saw that I got my green card, and started telling everyone in my lab. Everyone was really excited, and I was really excited.

Q: What would you tell someone evaluating different options?
G: I would look for a group of people that know what they are doing, but also that are willing to work with you throughout the process, answering your questions and addressing your concerns.
