Q: How did you hear about Tukki?
A: I learned about Tukki through my brother, who has been in California for the last 10 years and is an entrepreneur. Through his connections, that's how I got introduced to the team.
Q: What worried you about the visa process?
A: The visa process has been mostly inexplicable for me. I found it extremely complex and long.
Being on an H-4 visa, my status was highly dependent on my husband's job, so it was never easy to understand how to have a secure status in the U.S.
On top of that, long queues, difficult appointments, and having to travel to India for visa stamping made the process even more challenging.
"It has never been easy for me to understand how to have a secure status in the U.S."
Q: How was your experience working with the Tukki team?
A: I didn't even know a platform like this existed before. The level of structure and categorization was a pleasant surprise.
In our field, there's a lack of structure when it comes to documentation, and collecting evidence took a very long time. Tukki helped me structure everything and recognize my body of work over the years.
"They were non-compromising… and I got the EB-1A, which I didn't think I would ever get."
The process itself was tedious, and I worked with Tukki for almost a year. They were non-compromising, and I ended up getting the EB-1A, which I didn't think I would ever get.
Q: What stood out most to you about the platform?
A: The platform is very extensive, with clear categories and subcategories, and everything feels seamless.
There are many detailed questions that help you understand what information is needed and how to input it. The whole experience of entering information was very smooth.
"It had so many details and questions that helped me understand what to input."
Q: How did you feel when you got approved?
A: I'm very grateful, it was only possible because of the patient and consistent work with Tukki, and their non-compromising approach.
They were clear from the beginning that building a strong case was important, and that really paid off when I got the news.
Q: What would you tell someone evaluating their visa options?
A: If you're in a non-conventional field like the arts, where there's not much structure, it's important to have the right support.
This experience reaffirmed for me that I can be an artist and still operate as an artist in the U.S.
Doing your research is key, and it's important to understand how an organization approaches your case. In my experience, each step was broken down clearly, and that made me feel like I was in good hands.
"Tukki's working environment made me realize: I'm in good hands."
